Southern Foreigner

Y'all will never believe this:

on the *FOREIGN* food aisle at the local megamart!!! My feeling like a foreigner up north has just been 100% validated!
For a split-second, I frowned with disapproval...but then I came to my senses and felt pleased as punch. ;-) If we had a flag pole on this house, I'd dig our Bonnie Blue flag out of the basement.

It was just hysterical. The "Southern" section is in b/t "Mexican" & "Asian" - they had a ton of Sylvia's Soul Food seasonings & canned goods (silly, b/c Sylvia's is in Harlem, *not* Dixie), lots of cajun spices, hot sauce, and hush puppy mixes. Oh, they had roux in a jar, too - ewww! I did look twice at a bottle of Louisiana-style remoulade, but then thought better of it. :-P

  5. OH. MY. WORD> When I lived in upstate NY I would have giving my eye teeth to see that sign as I always seemed to be on a perpetual hunt for some ingredient that we in the South take as staple but they in the North do not! Funny!
