Trophies & Zumbaversary

Last night my cheer squad was recognized with trophies at the league's closing ceremonies:
My cheer families were SO SWEET! They *all* asked if I would coach, again, and then all asked if they could request to be on my squad. That's the highest compliment!

Today was my one year Zumbaversary! :-D (OK, so I totally made that word up; but when I looked back on my blog to this day last year, I saw that I went to my 1st Zumba class ever 365 days ago!) Who would have ever guessed it would develop into a bona fide passion? I'm excited I actually had Zumba today on my Zumbaversary, and extra special? Annelise had today off school, came with me, and actually danced the WHOLE class with me for her first time! :-)
She did not get in the way in the least. I actually loved having her there! She spent the rest of the day doing hamstring jumps & saying, "I love Zumba!" :-D

The past three days, Will wrote on his Gratitude Tree leaves that he was thankful for "going to Loon Yee" (our new fave Asian place), "seeing Daddy & Mommy" (he threw Mommy in there, b/c he'd already written "seeing Daddy" a few times :-P), and "going to Chuck E Cheese with Daddy!" [We went Wednesday night - JB's choice! - to celebrate JB's bday...and it was actually a relaxed blast! Shocking! :-P]
Annelise has been thankful for "family," "tea time" (we went back to tea yesterday, since she also had yesterday off), and "Zumba! Zumba is fun!" :-D

Finally, I hope everyone took the time to honor our Veterans today. Here are mine...

Comments

  1. OK... I need to learn more about Zumba! I have heard so much about it!

BTW... I've been meaning to leave you a comment to let you know I have used your recipe several times for the pulled pork, using a can of Coke. That is fabulous! I've used it with a pork loin and with pork chops. I think I'm going to try it with chicken next and see what happens. :)

  2. You should totally try Zumba! I didn't get into it until after we left Naperville, so I don't have any specific teacher/class rec; but try it!

And also let me know if the coke-cooking works well with chicken! I'd LOVE to know! :-)
