Complete Youth Cheer Catch Up

The last week & a half has been jammed with post-worthy stuff almost every day...but no time to post! :-P Stay tuned this week for Annelise's first competition cheer event, Halloween, Will's final 7th grade playoff football game, and photo booth fun at a family friend's Sweet 16!

Youth cheer catching up: we did our Halloween dance on Saturday, 10/29. I have a love/hate relationship with this one. We learned but didn't get to perform it last year, b/c of a rain-out, so the girls were really excited to do it now. I do love that it's fun...but when they act like monsters, they just come across looking lazy, not like spooky zombies. :-P It looks like a bunch of bored tweens instead of any scary acting. :-D See for yourselves...

I did like our split stunt sequence, though:

Fast forward to this weekend: we did Backseat Driver one last time, but we really changed the stunt progression to have three different components. I LOOOOOOOVE our mini Show & Go's (the little bounce ups from the load position) at the end of the sequence.

They're nothing like even the lowest level in competition:
(This was Annelise back in April, less than one month in!) But we don't have mats on the field, and we didn't have enough girls for front spots, so this was as big as we could safely go.

Thankful to also get another overview video from my fave cheer mom:

This one is awesome, b/c it also shows three of my girls who went to the next field over to help our other Dream Team with their halftime dance, when three of their girls were out at the last second. Annelise got to do her back handspring down the center of the field, and two of my other awesome girls based for them to be able to do a stunt at the end. Teamwork makes the dream work!!!

Finally, my Cheertators & I spent 7+ hours straight this Sunday doing cheer choreography for 6 Turf Bowl dances! One of my FAVE duties as VP of Cheer!!! Sneak peek...

Here's my division's dance that I will be teaching everyone tonight at 7 PM. Wish us all luck! :-D

And don't forget to stay tuned this week for recaps of Annelise's first competition cheer event, Halloween, Will's final 7th grade playoff football game, and photo booth fun at a family friend's Sweet 16!
