Washington D.C. 2018

Friday, June 29th: the *BEST* day at Mount Vernon! We completed the Agent 711 spy app that’s interactive across the grounds, had an AMAZING lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, checked out pre-Civil War graffiti on George Washington’s tomb, got to sit in virtual snow (a big deal for no-snow Annelise) in a 4D movie, and loooved all the Hamilton connections: 3 “Be Washington” sessions & 3 actual letters on display this summer.

We had dinner at Passion Fin - sushi & sashimi for Amy & Will, teriyaki chicken & pineapple fried rice for me & Annelise:

“Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now...”

Saturday, June 30th: the Jefferson Memorial (also looking back across at the Washington Monument) & then to the Iwo Jima Monument:

I *WILL* find the BEST bubble tea wherever I am. TeaDM is EXCELLENT!!! & in the city of my birth! :-D #bubbleteaislife

Amazing girls’ dinner shared with my first sisters in life and the girl of my heart at The Conche. We shared a special spinach & ricotta ravioli in a corn sauce, sweet & sour cauliflower, ahi poke, bacon mac & cheese, s’mores dark chocolate frozen cocoa, & the Manjari: “Madagascar Chocolate Mousse, Vanilla Creme Brûlée, Dark Chocolate Brownie, & Salted Caramel Center, with Salted Caramel Ice Cream”

  1. We've done D.C. a number of times, but never made it to Mt. Vernon. Putting it on my list for next time we travel up that way!!

    1. Definitely do! Mt. Vernon was probably our favorite!

  2. We were just in DC last October, and it was so much fun! We went with a Christian tour guide, so we learned a ton of stuff from a Biblical perspective which made it that much better.

We spent a morning at Mount Vernon and really enjoyed it. We wish we could have stayed longer, but our wallets were glad that we left when we did because the gift shops are amazing!
