ServeFest, Braces, Mother's Day

Last Sunday morning, instead of our traditional services, our church family worshipped by scattering across the greater West Houston area doing simple service projects that bring hope to those underserved or forgotten in our community: ServeFest. My fam got to do our fave: Feed the Hunger Packathon - we packed 10,080 meals in under 2 hours!!!

Last Monday, Annelise got her braces off after 20.5 months:
Her orthodontist is so awesome – they gave her a gift bag with popcorn, Skittles, Jolly Ranchers, gum, etc. – everything she wasn’t supposed to eat with the braces on – to walk out with. :-D She’s thrilled. We went back the very next afternoon just to pick up her clear retainers that she’ll sleep in - they don’t even have to do impressions anymore: they did some fancy 3D computer scan of her mouth & then used that to make her retainers, instead of taking the impressions, (where the stuff would ooze down the back of your throat & make you gag. #worstmemories)

Mother's Day was lovely! [Will wouldn’t appear in any pics, (#ninthgrade) but he’s here. :-P] I’m SO THANKFUL for my big gift of a super pro yoga mat, also in honor of earning my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification. 💖 Such a satisfying day: bubble tea, family lunch out with Bailey beagle, too (we’ve been taking her to accommodating outside seating restaurants with us on the weekends - she doesn't beg!) and then we went to walk through the framing of our new house - we have a 2nd story & roofline less than 2 weeks in from pouring our slab! We also walked our new neighborhood nature trail - LOVE it!!! We have a bayou & woods at the far end of our new street = close enough to enjoy, far enough so it won't flood us! Then we came home to clean up a bit here = so needed & sooo thankful not to have to do it alone!
