August Update
Where has August gone?!?! Completely evaporated...
Will turned 15 the week before school started! FIFTEEN. He was excited to celebrate with friends that whole weekend - mostly hanging out & going to the pool, but special highlights with chauffeur Daddy: K1 Speed go-karts, Battlefield Houston laser tag, & Krispy Kreme:
Annelise got her 8th grade schedule at her new school the week before school started – it felt sooo bizarre: the school building is an exact copy of the junior high where Will spent all 3 of his years & she spent the last 2 years. The only difference is the colors inside are red & black instead of orange & green. (Our school district does this with fairly standardized building plans.) It was still such a weird sensation walking through there with her! She’s always been so strong & resilient - she has the confidence to walk in almost anywhere on her own. She also went to their back-to-school dance that night - walked right in by herself & loved it; I would’ve been sooo nervous at her age!!! Praying this year ahead is positively amazing & edifying for everyone...
Our fam’s last year of junior high for Annelise & Will’s sophomore year of high school! (This pic angle is weird of Annelise, but whatever - I’m just thankful I got them both to stand together on their first days for a split second!)
Since we switched the kids’ schools to the ones zoned to the new house we’re building, Annelise’s junior high isn’t close enough to bike or walk, anymore, so we have to drop off & pick up every day. I get busy, so I set an afternoon alarm on my phone...& every time it goes off, Bailey beagle goes NUTS!!! She flips out (& literally almost flips doing jumps!) dances, sings, & howls to ride with to go pick her up!
I'm teaching extra classes like crazy...
Fun: our friend who watched Bailey while we were in NYC went on a cruise last week, so she gave us their baseball tickets for last Sunday! Our BFFs here just happened to had already planned to go to the same game, so bonus fun for friends & fam. Annelise & her BFF Annika got picked to be human Whataburgers out on the field in between innings - hilarious!
Will has played in two JV football scrimmages the last two weeks. The regular high school football season starts this week...

(We're not sure what's up with the green practice jerseys - their colors are navy, crimson, & white!)
Happy 15th birthday to Will!! Hard to believe everyone's back in school and that fall will be here soon. Continuing in prayer for all that's going on in your life!
