Fall Choir Concert = BOTH Kids!

Will & Annelise both sang in the same junior high fall choir concert Monday night! ❤️ Definitely a proud mom moment to have them both shine in their own right on the same stage at the same event!

Attire: 6th graders wear polos & black dress pants. 7th & 8th graders get tuxes & formal dresses.

Songs: the entire show was a mix of spiritual and patriotic folk songs. (I only videoed Will & Annelise’s performances.) Will’s Tenor Bass Choir went first with “Wade in the Water” (*I* sang this in middle school choir; does everyone? Is it a rite of passage? :-D) and “Never Far From Home” (Will is front row, 5 in from the left/2 left of the 7th grade football player.)

Annelise’s 6th Grade Girls followed with “Good News, Chariot’s A-Comin’” and “Yankee Doodle Dandy” (Annelise is front row, 4th in from the right.)

The finale was all 5 choirs combined to sing a tribute to the armed services. Each choir sang the official song of a different branch, with Annelise’s choir singing the Navy’s “Anchors Aweigh” & Will’s singing the Air Force’s “Off We Go...” and finally everyone ending with “America the Beautiful”. It was really lovely - with each branch, anyone who had served was asked to stand; the audience erupted in applause for each:
