Junior High Football: Down, Up, Down

Last Tuesday was a sad football night. Will’s Bears finally lost one, 8-0, leaving them at 3-1, and a kid on the other team was injured enough to need an ambulance. (Praise God - his scans came back clear!) 3 bright spots: Will’s choir teacher came to her very 1st game, just to see Will! Will played well, and one of my sweet cheerleaders from the last *5 years* found me to say HI!!! ❤️

We didn’t go early on Friday to San Antonio for Annelise’s 1st cheer competition of the season so we could instead attend Will’s Junior High night at Legacy Stadium. Sooo impressive!!! For our non-Texan friends, check out our newest high school stadium via the Today show.

This Tuesday was another bummer, losing to the other local powerhouse 16-0, leaving our Bears at 3-2. In their defense, “everyone” expected a 50-0 blowout, and honestly, it *should* have been 16-8: we got a TD with 18 seconds to go, but the ref said our player stepped out of bounds. Bad call; it was right in front of us. :-/ *sigh* Life lessons re: dealing with bad calls that you can’t change, etc., etc. The sky was beautiful, though, and Will still went to shake the ref’s hand:

Only two more weeks left in the season...

(BTW, I fixed the missing choir concert videos in my last post. Sorry about that!)

  1. Sorry about the losses...I know you've taught Will to have such good sportsmanship by the way he still went and shook the ref's hand! (And that's a beautiful pic, too!)
