NYC Day 5: Doughnuts, Spyscape, Empire, Mean Girls

NYC Day 5, Friday, July 5th: I got up early by myself to reach the August Wilson Theatre before the box office opened to queue up for rush tickets (tips here on getting the cheapest tickets) to Mean Girls on Broadway - Annelise’s choice request.
Rush seats sold out...but I got the LAST 2 SRO tickets for $30!!! :-O

Family breakfast at The Doughnut Project lived up to the Food Network hype! (I had seen it on Baked.)
Annelise’s Black Gold brownie batter-glazed was more deliciously unique than I expected:
The Everything Bagel doughnut I’d been dreaming of was salty/sweet heaven - another NYC bucket list check mark.

In the throes of sugar rush, we rocked Spyscape - a surprise hit of the trip. It was the one extra thing Will asked to do, and we all loved it! Nothing to do with New York specifically, but it’s an interactive spy museum, where you take quizzes and complete challenges as you go through to decipher your own spy skills. There are decoding, profiling, observational, & even a special ops challenge!

Surveillance:
Special Ops - hit as many light buttons as fast as you can without touching a laser beam:
(Annelise went ahead of everyone & took all the ops pics on the end screens :-))
Anonymous (well, not now :-P) Will:

We paid homage to The Late Show (Colbert fans!)
and went through Rockefeller Center
before going to the top of the Empire State Building.

Mean Girls was fantastic - Annelise’s 1st Broadway musical *ON* Broadway: she was sooo into it!
We waited at the stage door for her to get her program signed by 3 of the leads after the show, and she’s listening to the soundtrack now nonstop...

Missed any of our amazing NYC trip?
