Zumba Virgin

I went to my first ever Zumba class this morning. I've wanted to try it for ages, b/c *I DO NOT EXERCISE* but I do dance! But something always got in the way - JB couldn't get home every week for me to do evenings, it was expensive, or only offered somewhere I had to pay for additional membership. Talk about God making a perfect way: my MOPS friend Melissa just got certified, and she's teaching it at our church on Thursday mornings from 9:15-10:15 for $3 a class. How amazing is that?! I don't have to worry about childcare, I can come straight from dropping off Annelise, I can go home & shower before I have to pick her up, and I don't have to pay for a whole session or classes I don't come to.

It was a lot of fun - instead of traditional aerobics, it's more like a Latin dance party...but it still knocked me out. We danced to 13 songs, and I thought I was going to DIE by the start of #3. (A lot of that is my own fault. I'm an admitted show-off, and I felt like I had to dance full out, since I'm a dance teacher & stood up on the front row. :-P) I made it through, though. :-) I didn't pass out in the shower afterwards, either, but I give fair warning now to ANYONE who expects anything physical out of me tomorrow!!! (I also just negated any caloric benefit by snarfing down a load of birthday cake with Sis after lunch, but hey - it's still better than if I wouldn't have gone! ;-))

I'm so thankful I'm healthy enough to get through a class like that with no prep whatsoever...and that I got to eat cake afterwards. :-D
